Thomas Spalding was the son of Thomas and Margaret Kerr Spalding, of Leith, Edinburgh. He married Anne Martin Spalding, of Colinton, Edinburgh.
St Michael’s Church magazine (November 1944) states “Staff Sergeant Thomas Spalding, 71 Redford Road : died in action.”
He died at the age of 37 and his name is on the WW2 memorial of St Michael’s Church.
