John Pauline Smart was the son of Helen Ann Smart, of 4, Murieston Terrace, Edinburgh, and the late George Watson Smart. He was the younger brother of James Smart who also died.
He was married to Rosalie Annie Smart (nee Hatt), of 12, Worfield St., Battersea Park, London.
He died at the age of 36.
His name is on the WW1 memorial of St Michael’s Church.
