Douglas Bankshaw Robb lived at 26 Briarbank Terrace. He served aboard the S.S. Newton Ash [Newcastle-upon-Tyne].
St Michael’s Church magazine (March 1943) states that “Douglas’ ship suffered and as yet no news of Douglas. A few members of the crew are safe. He has been reported missing” The following month reports that he has been lost.
He died at the age of 21 and his name is on the WW2 memorial of St Michael’s church.
