Stewart Nelson was the son of George Ross Nelson and Margaret Nelson, of Portobello, Midlothian.
St Michael’s Church magazine (October 1944) states that “Stewart Nelson, 21 Hazelbank Terrace : his ship in the Merchant Navy was destroyed.”
He was age 19 when he died and his name is on the WW2 memorial at St Michael’s Church.
