The Guild has an over-arching 3-year strategy of One Journey, Many Roads. We are supporting a total of 6 projects in this country and abroad, and for this session (Sep 2019 – Apr 2020) we are supporting Seema’s Project, launched to protect street children in Puna, India. We raise funds for this project through collections, open social meetings and table sales. We also support the Church and other charities.
We have around 30 members and have room for more! There is a capitation fee of £12 which goes directly to the Guild Office at 121 George Street to help with the running costs of the Guild. The first year is free so why not give it a go, all are welcome to Guild meetings whether it be once or more often. We enjoy fellowship with each other and most importantly we have fun along the way!
Our full name is St Colm’s @ St Michael’s Guild. We originally started in Dalry Church which after a union with Haymarket became Dalry-Haymarket Church and then, following a union with St Bride’s, we became St Colm’s, a derivation of Columba. Some years later St Colm’s closed as a Church, but fortunately, the Guild was warmly welcomed by the Minister and Session of St Michael’s and it was decided to keep the reference to St Colm’s in the title.
