STUART MONTGOMERY has been Musical Director at St. Michael’s Parish Church since 1992. During these twenty five years music has continued to play a substantial part in the church services with a fine choir, operating for many years. Orchestral, choral and solo recitals have featured regularly with a Sunday at SIX concert series that has welcomed professional players and singers from all over Britain. Every style of music has featured from classical to jazz, country and western, to Scottish and folk traditions. We are always looking for players to perform in our church.
St. Michael’s boasts a fine Reid-Sohn grand piano, new in 2000, and this is much admired by all who come to play. The organ has a great facility for many different sounds; by Brinley and Foster from Sheffield and overhauled extensively in the 1980’s. Bach, Handel, Franck and other great French pieces of the early 20th Century sound splendid in the church’s superb acoustics.
