Churches Together
Together we plan and share services during Lent and at other times of the year. In worshipping and celebrating together we hope to learn from our different Christian traditions and to deepen our faith.
We are currently preparing our programme for 2020, but please see below for examples of events we have held in the recent past.
Autumn Programme 2019 - Care for Creation
Five Evenings of reflection, study and worship on the theme of God’s Creation and how we care for it. Everyone is warmly welcome.
Wednesday 2 October, Polwarth Parish Church, 7pm
Are Christians Required to Care for Creation? Using video clips, reflection on biblical passages and discussions, those attending will be invited to consider the place of the Church in the present international concern over the environmental issues.
Wednesday 9 October, St Martin of Tours, 7pm
Eco Workshop, Love Food – Hate Waste, information and practical ways to reduce food waste. The speaker is David Coleman, Eco-Congregation chaplain.
Monday 14 October, St Cuthbert’s Church, 7pm
“Creation is a caress from God” – conversations on the RC response on the climate crisis.
Wednesday 23 October, GDS Church, 7pm
Reflection on the harvest Psalm 65.
Tuesday 29 October, St Michael’s Parish Church, 7pm
New hymns, readings and conversations to reflect on our lives in God’s creation. The speaker is Adrian Shaw from Eco-Congregation Scotland.
